Congrats to Luis Larrondo, 2018 recipient of the Aschoff's Rule(r)

Congrats to our friend Luis Larrondo of the P. Catholic University of Chile for receiving Aschoff's Rule(r) at the 2017 Gordon Research Conference on Chronobiology from its past holder, Katja Lamia of The Scripps Research Institute. Luis studies circadian rhythms and synthetic biology in the fungal model system of Neurospora crassa. This is one of the highest honors in the field of circadian biology -- the name refers to the actual award, the ruler of Jurgen Aschoff, one of the founders of circadian biology. His three rules describe and predict the circadian behavior of animals housed under constant lighting conditions. Pictured here celebrating Luis' win are Jen Hurley (RPI), Carrie Partch (UCSC), and Luis Larrondo (P. Catholic University of Chile).
